From July 16 to 27, the 32nd Summer Universidad was held in Germany under the organization of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Student-athletes from more than 130 countries participated in the prestigious sports event. The Azerbaijani team advanced successful results to winning a total of 4 medals - 2 gold and 2 silver at the Universidad.
Our rhythmic gymnastics team won two gold medals in all-around and ribbon exercises. Our team was awarded a silver medal in ball and hoop compositions.
In judo, Eljan Hajiyev successfully performed in the 90 kg weight category and returned home with a silver medal.
It should be noted that since 1999 the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sports Organizations Association, a subordinate organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, has been a full member and official partner of the International University Sports Federation.
The Association ensures the preparation of student-athletes for international competitions and their participation in those competitions.
