The Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Holds Events Celebrating Novruz and Ramadan

The Novruz holiday, which has lived in the memory of our people for millennia, symbolizes the arrival of spring and brings an atmosphere of joy to every home.

To celebrate Novruz and Ramadan, the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHİK), together with its member organizations across various regions of the country, hosted festive events for children, providing joyful and memorable experiences.

The main purpose of the events was not only to provide meaningful leisure activities for children but also to acquaint the younger generation with rich national traditions, spiritual values, and to foster in them a sense of unity and the joy inherent to the Novruz holiday.

Special attention during the festive programs was given to children of martyrs. In addition, meetings were organized with children raised in orphanages and boarding schools without parental care, allowing them to share in the joy of the celebrations. Beloved Novruz characters Kosa, Kechal, and Bahar Gizi created a festive atmosphere through their performances, jokes, and interactive dances with the children, bringing joy to all participants.

During the festive days, AHİK’s health and recreational centers hosted bonfires and a variety of entertainment programs. Representatives of AHİK, speaking at the events, presented measures implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to promote the Novruz holiday at the international level, as well as the conditions created in the country to ensure the healthy and prosperous development of children. The importance of social and humanitarian initiatives aimed at children’s welfare, implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation under the leadership of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, was also highlighted.

Particular attention was drawn to the crucial role of cultural and artistic projects in preserving Azerbaijan’s spiritual, historical, and cultural heritage. It should be noted that this year, the festive atmosphere of Novruz, symbolizing renewal, coincided with the month of Ramadan, which encourages spiritual growth and self-improvement.

During the month of Ramadan, AHİK and its member and subordinate organizations organized iftar dinners for trade union members and families of martyrs. Participants at the iftar shared the spiritual values of this sacred month and expressed their wishes for peace, prosperity, and sustainable development of the country.
