The official opening ceremony of the project “Green Network: Scientific Innovation Platform” has been held at Karabakh University. The main objective of the project is to promote the development of scientific innovations and contribute to environmental sustainability by expanding the integration of “green science” into the education system.
The initiative is implemented within the framework of the grant competition announced in 2025 by the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations, under the theme “Reconstruction of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, the problem of mines and missing.persons.” The project is jointly carried out by the Center for Global Cooperation and Analytical Studies Public Union, the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, and the Academy of Labour and Social Relations of Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by official representatives of the Special Presidential Representative Office in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara and Khojaly districts, as well as the Restoration, Construction and Management Service operating in those regions.
Speakers discussed the ongoing construction works in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur and highlighted the progress of “green energy” projects in the area.
As an initiative supporting an innovation-based “green transition” in the fields of science and business, the project envisions the creation of an online collaboration platform for members of the “Green Science” community to facilitate networking, resource exchange, mentorship, and experience sharing. The two-day scientific and practical conference aims to promote a scientific approach to environmental issues in the Karabakh region, including ecoterrorism, climate change, food security, health, and energy challenges, as well as to support research and innovation in these areas.
Within the framework of the event, ahead of the COP29 Conference, Karabakh University was presented with the publication titled “Addressing Climate Change: International Cooperation and Scientific Communication”, prepared with the support of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation.
During the conference, educational video materials on climate change and environmental protection.were.demonstrated.
On the following day, discussions and master classes on plant protection will be held with the participation of experts from Türkiye and China.
