The 120th Anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Trade Unions Celebrated

A solemn event dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the establishment of trade unions in Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent.

The celebration was attended by representatives of the International Trade Union Confederation, the International Labour Organization, trade union organizations from various countries, as well as a delegation from the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK).

Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, Kudratulla Rafikov, congratulated all trade union members on the anniversary. He highlighted the history and development of the trade union movement, its important role in the country’s public life, and the progress achieved in protecting workers’ rights, regulating labour relations, and ensuring decent working conditions.

Representatives of AHIK extended their warm congratulations to their Uzbek colleagues, emphasizing the strong bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and noted the exceptional role of the Heads of State in elevating bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership.

It was underlined that cooperation between the trade unions of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan continues to expand through new projects and joint initiatives, while mutual exchange of experience is becoming increasingly effective and comprehensive.

The AHIK delegation emphasized the importance of further strengthening relations between the trade unions of both countries and expressed their commitment to deepening cooperation in the years ahead.
