A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation with representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, spoke about the dynamically developing Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations in various fields, and emphasized the important role of the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in expanding cooperation between our countries, the importance of mutual visits of the heads of state, and the signed documents.
Speaking about the activities of Azerbaijani trade unions, the Chairman of the Confederation drew attention to the work done to protect the labor, social, economic rights and legitimate interests of members, labor protection, and ensuring decent working conditions. It was noted that important innovations have been implemented to protect the health of members, organize treatment and recreation, and the process of issuing referrals has been electronic in order to ensure accessibility, continuity and transparency.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Cooperation in expanding relations between the trade unions of the two countries, and the importance of organizing joint projects, educational trainings, and mutual exchange of experience.
Kobilyon Kirgizaliev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, Head of the Labor Inspectorate of the organization spoke about the high level of relations between the two brotherly countries, and said that our relations are successfully developing and deepening. Kobilyon Kirgizaliev spoke about the steps taken in Uzbekistan to protect labor rights, the conditions created for the treatment and recreation of union members. It was noted that the training, the exchange of ideas and experience held by representatives of Uzbek trade unions on labor protection, safe working conditions and other issues at the Azerbaijan Academy of Labor and Social Relations, will be useful for future activities.
Irkin Umarahunov, Rector of the Institute of Advanced Training of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, provided information on the activities of the higher education institution he leads, drawing attention to the importance of student and experience exchange, as well as the organization of joint trainings.
The meeting discussed the development of relations, made proposals, and put forward initiatives.
Then, representatives of Uzbekistan trade unions got acquainted with the Call Center at the AHIK, as well as the conditions created for receiving citizens.
