Memorandum on Cooperation Signed Between the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation and the Bar Association

A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) with representatives of the Bar Association.
The Confederation’s President, Sahib Mammadov, highlighted the favorable conditions created in our country for the effective functioning of trade unions and spoke about the work carried out to protect the labor and socio-economic rights of union members, safeguard their health, and organize their medical care and recreation.
Participants were informed in detail about ongoing reforms within the trade union system, the innovations introduced, and current projects. It was emphasized that AHIK’s Center for Labor Protection and Legal Assistance provides free support to individuals regarding labor rights and regularly conducts awareness-raising activities.
The Chairman of the Bar Association, Anar Bagirov, emphasized the excellent legislative framework regulating labor rights in Azerbaijani and highly appreciated the reforms and innovations implemented by AHIK in the field of labor rights protection.
The event highlighted the importance of relations between the two organizations and included an exchange of views on the directions of future cooperation.
During the meeting, a Memorandum on Cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation and the Bar Association.
The Memorandum envisions more reliable protection of the rights and interests of trade union members, an increase in legal awareness-raising activities, and the expansion of joint activities in this area.
Under the agreement, the parties will cooperate in promoting scientific and practical research on labor rights, in organizing seminars, trainings, and conferences for trade union members and lawyers, and other related areas.
Following the signing ceremony, representatives of the Bar Association visited the “Kurort” Tourism Information Center to learn about recent innovations implemented there, as well as the activities of the Center for Labor Protection and Legal Assistance.
