Meeting with the Ambassadors of Decent Work

The Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) held a meeting with the Ambassadors of Decent Work.

AHIK implements the “Ambassadors of Decent Work” project, which brings together distinguished and influential public figures of our country. The principal aim of this initiative is to promote labour rights, strengthen awareness in this domain, and encourage decent work.

During the meeting, participants discussed Azerbaijan’s successful social policies, the ongoing digitalization of labour relations, the expansion of the social security system, and the supportive environment for trade union activities in the country.

Particular attention was given to recent reforms and innovations within the trade union system, the launch of new projects, and concrete measures aimed at protecting labour rights and ensuring decent working conditions.

The dialogue also addressed initiatives focused on safeguarding members’ health and improving the organization of medical treatment and rest opportunities for workers.

Emphasis was placed on the valuable support provided by AHIK’s Ambassadors of Decent Work in advancing labour rights and promoting a culture of decent work. The project was recognized as a key initiative in strengthening social responsibility and fostering constructive labour relations.

During the event, the Ambassadors expressed their appreciation for the Confederation’s efforts and gave a positive assessment of the ongoing reforms and innovations within the trade union system. They also underscored the importance of continued cooperation with AHIK in achieving common goals in the field of labour and social protection.

The meeting also featured presentations outlining the activities of the Confederation, along with video materials prepared as part of the Ambassadors of Decent Work project.

Delegates engaged in discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and exploring new avenues for joint initiatives. The session resulted in a number of proposals and constructive feedback aimed at further enhancing the effectiveness of the project.
