An event dedicated to Victory Day was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation

An event titled “Historic Victory” was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHİK) on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day.

The event was attended by government officials, the management and staff of AHİK, as well as representatives of member organizations.

The ceremony began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the memory of the martyrs.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, spoke about the historical significance of Victory Day, the brilliant military leadership, farsighted policy, and wise decisions of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He also highlighted the courage and heroism of Azerbaijani soldiers and officers on the battlefield, as well as the unshakable unity of the Azerbaijani people.

It was emphasized that this glorious Victory is the result of the ideas of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the resolute policy of President Ilham Aliyev, and represents a page of pride and heroism in the millennia-old history of the Azerbaijani nation. It was noted that the bravery of the sons and daughters who fought heroically in our just Patriotic War and raised our flag over the liberated lands is highly valued by the state and the people. The social welfare of the families of martyrs and war veterans remains a constant priority.

Currently, large-scale reconstruction and restoration works are being carried out in the liberated territories, East Zangezur and Karabakh are being revived, and life is returning to these lands.

AHİK Advisor and Patriotic War participant Kamran Umudov shared memories of his combat path, the determination of his soldiers, and their strong fighting spirit.

The Chairman of the Organization of War, Labor, and Armed Forces Veterans, Colonel Jalil Khalilov, in his speech, underlined the strength of the Azerbaijani Army and the state’s care and attention toward the war participants.

As part of the event, a film featuring the heroism of Azerbaijani soldiers and officers during the Patriotic War, the unity of the nation, and its unwavering faith in victory was screened.

Honored Artist Agalar Bayramov recited patriotic poems, while war veteran and singer Mebud Ahmadov performed songs of victory, both of which were warmly received by the audience. Additionally, the performance of the choral group composed of martyrs’ children, titled “The Echo of Victory from the Children of Martyrs,” was met with great applause.

The event concluded with the song “Long Live, Azerbaijan!” performed by singer Gulzar Farajova, glorifying the power of the Azerbaijani state and the nation’s spirit of victory.
