On the eve of the Day of Knowledge in Nakhchivan, children from low-income families, including those who lost their parents and were left without parental care, lonely, disabled, veterans and large families were awarded school clothes and school supplies.
The event was held with the support of the Authorized Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Nakhchivan Cabinet of Ministers, and jointly organized by the Nakhchivan Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Nakhchivan State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Issues, and the Nakhchivan Council of Trade Unions.
The event, which took place in the administrative building of the Nakhchivan Trade Unions Council, started with a minute of silence in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the heroes who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the singing of the National Anthem. Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Nakhchivan Trade Unions Council, Gazanfar Abdullayev, noted that improving the social well-being of children in need of special care is always in the spotlight, and they are provided with both material and moral support. Meanwhile, various seasonal recreation camps are organized in order to effectively organize children's leisure time.
Ramila Seyidova, Chairperson of the Nakhchivan State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Issues, said that as a result of the successfully implemented children's policy in our country, comprehensive attention and care are provided to children from all strata of society. Consistent and purposeful measures are also being implemented in this direction in the autonomous republic.
Head of the Department for Humanitarian Affairs of the Cabinet of Ministers of Nakhchivan Tarverdi Mammadov stressed that the well-being of children is one of the priority areas of state policy. Important measures related to the protection of their rights, education, health and social protection are being implemented. Today's event is also an important component of these events.
Then the children were presented with school uniforms and school supplies. This initiative was welcomed with joy by the children and their parents. They expressed their gratitude for the attention and support shown.
The event participants also watched a short video clip reflecting the projects implemented by the Nakhchivan Council of Trade Unions regarding children in need of special care.
It should be noted that similar events were held in other regions of the autonomous republic, and a total of 132 children from special categories were provided with school uniforms and school supplies, and 348 kids were provided with financial support.
