A press conference was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC).
At the event, a video clip was first shown reflecting the innovations implemented and projects carried out in the activities of trade unions over the past year.
Subsequently, ATUC representatives provided detailed information to media representatives on the activities of trade unions, measures implemented, and social projects carried out in the areas of protection of labor rights, labor safety, and the creation of decent working conditions.
It was noted that the Development Strategy of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation for 2025–2027 has been approved, and currently, an Action Plan covering 7 priorities, 12 areas of activity, and 36 measures is being implemented to realize the strategy.
A “Call Center,” Labor Protection and Legal Aid Center, as well as the “Kurort” Tourism Information Center, have started operating within the Confederation. Reconstruction and repair works are being carried out in the Confederation’s sanatoriums and recreation centers, and conditions are being improved. In the field of food supply, new developments have been implemented: menus have been adapted to food safety standards, and control over sanitary and hygiene rules has been strengthened.
To ensure transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in the process of issuing vouchers for sanatoriums and recreation centers, the e-ahik Sanatorium-Resort Electronic Reservation System has been launched. From January 1 to July 31, 2025, nearly 32,000 vouchers have been issued, which is 1.5 times more compared to the same period last year.
Media representatives were informed about the projects “AHIK Volunteers,” “Decent Work Ambassadors,” “From Colleague to Colleague with Care” “Run Towards Health,” and “Worth Seeing.” It was stated that work is also underway on a new project — “AHIK Plus,” which will be implemented jointly with social partners through a digital platform. Within the framework of “ATUC Plus,” bonuses, discounts, and special benefits are planned for trade union members.
Media representatives were also briefed on the work carried out to improve the quality of education at the Labor and Social Relations Academy. The Academy offers bachelor’s degrees in 6 specialties and master’s degrees in 5 specialties. For the purpose of increasing the knowledge and skills of union members, organizing professional development courses, and conducting trainings upon the request of state bodies and the private sector, a Center for Professional Development and Human Resources Development has been established at the higher education institution.
It was emphasized that measures are being implemented and projects are being carried out to support the families of martyrs, veterans, and participants of the war who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of our country. It was noted that 378 children from 209 martyr families under the patronage of the Confederation receive monthly financial assistance. Additionally, shopping cards have been provided to 148 martyr families. Furthermore, one-time financial assistance was provided to 95 family members of the January 20 martyrs. Within the framework of projects carried out in this direction, a “Techno Heroes” master class was organized for the children of martyrs at the “Absheron” sanatorium.
The Confederation and its member organizations organize cultural and mass events on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis, New Year, Novruz holiday, and other significant dates. To ensure the effective leisure of members, collective attendance of theater performances, concert programs, and sports competitions is organized. Within the framework of the events held, nearly 800,000 gifts were presented to the children of trade union members, which is twice as many as in the same period last year.
Media representatives were also provided with detailed information on ATUC’s work in the field of international cooperation and relations with international trade unions.
