The Republican Union of the Service and Industry Workers Trade Unions

The congress held on May 20, 2025,  approved  a merger of the Federation of the Metal workers Union Azerbaijan, the Republican Committee of the Construction Complex Workers Trade Union, the Republican Committee of the Entrepreneurship, Private Science and Light Industry Workers Trade Union of the Republic of Azerbaijan,  into the Federation of the Public Catering, Cooperatives, Healthcare, Tourism, Sports, Hospitality, Fishery and Other Services Workers Trade Union, and the name of the organization was changed to the Republican Union of Service and Industry Workers Trade Unions.

The Republican Union unites workers in trade, public catering, cooperatives, health centers, tourism, sports, hotel management, fishing, entrepreneurs, private science and light industry, as well as workers in mining, metallurgy, jewelry, heavy and general mechanical engineering, instrument-making, radio-electronics, automobile, agricultural mechanical engineering and construction industries. Currently, 788 trade union organizations, including 65 city and district committees, operate within the Republican Union. The total number of members is 41,516 people.

The supreme body of the sectoral trade union is the Congress, which is convened once every five years. In the period between congresses, the governing body of the trade union is the Assembly of the sectorial trade union. The Assembly elects the Executive Committee of the sectorial trade union to organize and conduct current affairs and to carry out its Charter functions.

The Republican Union of Service and Industrial Workers Trade Unions is a member of StreetNet International, UNI, MKP “Stroitel”, BWI, PSI, EPSU, and the International Eurasian Metalworkers Federation.
